Islamabad: Foreign Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has blamed US for targeting Pakistan by using an excuse of the presence of Haqqani network in the country, adding that Pakistan will not bow before US to take any dictation that harms our national interest.
According to media reports, the foreign minister said that our forces and nation had paid a big price while achieving big success in the war on terror while US had failed in Afghanistan despite spending billions of dollars.
Khawaja Asif claimed that we have offered the US time and again to provide us evidence against the Haqqani network and initiate a joint operation against the group. The same offer had also been made to Afghan President Ashraf Ghani in Gen Bajwa’s recent visit to Kabul, the foreign minister added.
He also asked the US to tell how Daesh had managed to gain foothold in Afghanistan despite the fact that its troops are equipped with latest equipment.
The Foreign Minister also asserted that we have conveyed to US administration during my recent visit that we want a relationship based on equality with the US, adding that National Action Plan was designed to clean our own country from the terrorism menace.
