Shahid’s arrest a bid to cow down freedom leadership: Gilani

Islamabad: Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani while condemning the arrest of Shahid Yousuf, son of United Jihad Council Chief, Syed Salahuddin, by India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) in New Delhi termed the move a desperate attempt on the part of India to cow down pro-freedom leadership, Kashmir Media Service ( KMS) reported.

According to the statement issued to press the APHC Chairman said, Syed Salahuddin is a forerunner and a prominent figure in freedom movement and has dedicated his whole life for the sacred cause. “It is a vain attempt to break and weaken Syed Salahuddin’s commitment to the movement,” he said, reiterating that such cowardly and suppressive measures could not dampen the passion and commitment of the pro-freedom leadership.

Meanwhile APHC chairman expressed his heartfelt grief over the sad demise of daughter of Late Ab Gani Lone. Geelani prayed for the deceased and forbiddance to the Lone family. He said we had cordial and affectionate relations and termed it is a personnel loss for him.
