Moderator demands action against Shahbaz Gill for abusing Dr.Ramesh Kumar in live TV show

ISLAMABAD, March 22: A Rawalpindi based Christian ‘Moderator’ of Presbyterian Church of Pakistan and human rights defender Amin Masih Khokhar has demanded strict disciplinary action against the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Political Communication Shahbaz Gill for verbally abusing and shouting at MNA and Chairman Pakistan Hindu Council and minorities’ rights defender Dr Rasmesh Kumar in a live TV show.
In a statement on Tuesday, Amin Masih Khokar, while advocating the sentiments of Christian and Hindu minority communities, demanded the government to immediately take disciplinary action against Shahbaz Gill for abusing and threatening Dr. Ramesh Kumar in a live TV program for exiting the PTI government.
He said Gill’s this condemnable act had further increased the sense of insecurity and deprivation among the minority communities living in Pakistan, particularly in rural areas.
The Moderator said Dr. Kumar was an honest person and he even can’t imagine selling his conscience. He said Dr. Kumar was enjoying the trust of thousands and thousands of people from minority communities.
He said Dr. Kumar always takes decisions according to his conscience and wisdom and this is the reason he spoke loudly wherever in the world he noted injustice was being done.
He said Dr. Kumar has been an open critic of India when India illegally changed the demography of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He said Dr. Kumar is a true Pakistani politician and he loves the soil of Pakistan more than anyone other else.
Amin Masih Khokhar said a criminal case should also be registered against Shehbaz Gill for hurling threats to Dr. Kumar
In a live TV show a few days ago, Gill started verbally abusing Dr. Kumar, shouted at him, called him a “corrupt person” and a “sell-out” repeatedly, paying no heed to the fact that he was speaking on national television.
He openly accused the disgruntled MNA of selling fake cancer medicines in Punjab. Dr. Ramesh Kumar had denied all the allegations leveled by Gill and said: “Imran Khan is a good person but he had the wrong advisers.”
In 2018, Dr. Ramesh Kumar had left the PML-N and joined the PTI. He has now quit the PTI government and joined the Opposition in its no-trust motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan.
