Islamabad: Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gillani, Mirwaiz Ummer Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik, while taking the dig at mainstream politicians deceitful politics have said, that National Conference, PDP and Congress leaders visit martyrs’ graveyard under police cover and shower flowers and lay wreaths on graves of martyrs of July 13, 1931 for their political interests.
Terming this all as political drams over the blood of martyrs, the fact remains that these very people damaged the mission of 1931 martyrs in 1938 and rejected it by abandoning their path. . “To convert Muslim Conference into National Conference was the first step to sabotage the mission of 1931 martyrs,” they said.
People of the state are the real custodians of martyrs of 1931, the JRL said. “Even after 86 years, Kashmiris are spilling their hot blood for the cause whose foundation was laid by these great martyrs.”
The statement said that caging resistance leadership, imposing strict curbs would actually increase the anger among people, including youth and won’t deter the resolve of resistance leadership who will continue to represent the true aspirations of people.
The statement said that the resistance leaders attempted to march towards the martyr’s graveyard according to the already announced programme. However, the state authorities used force to stop them. Syed Ali Geelani, however, came out of his residence at Hyderpora even as the lane leading to his house was blocked with barbed wire. However, Geelani briefly addressed a few media persons and later released the video. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was whisked away by the police shortly after coming out from his residence and later detained at Nigeen police station.
