Babar Badat, elected as FIAFTA President

Islamabad: Mr. Babar Badat   was elected as president of  ‘Fédération Internationale des Associations de Transitaires et Assimilés’ (FIATA) at its World Congress, 2017 on October, 8.

FIATA — International Fede­ra­­tion of Freight Forwarders Associations is a global body, representing over 50,000 international logistics companies from 150 member countries. FIATA member companies employee strength world over is over 10 million.

Mr Badat is the founder chairman of the Pakistan International Freight Forwarders Association (PIFFA), and ran unopposed for the position. He already serves as the Director Pakistan Industrial Development Corporation Pvt. Ltd.

FIAFTA is the premier global logistics organisation, as such bringing its Presidency home is a matter of great pride and honour for Pakistan’s trade in general and the transport logistics industry in particular. Today it becomes even more relevant for us as Pakistan works towards establishing itself as a regional transit hub under the auspicious of CPEC,” said the press release announcing the election.
