Acting PM calls on President Masood Khan, discuss issues of mutual interest

“Express their deep concern on the humanitarian crisis in IOK, say United Nations should send UNSC or UNHRC mission in Indian occupied Kashmir to investigate war crimes committed by Indian occupation forces in the region; India must be hold accountable for its misdemeanor in case it does not allow the UN fact finding mission to visit Kashmir”

Islamabad: The Acting Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Nisar Ahmed Khan called on AJK president Sardar Masood Ahmed Khan here on Wednesday.

Both the leaders during an hour long meeting held at Kashmir House Islamabad discussed in detail the matters of political significance, ongoing development projects in AJK and the situation in Indian Occupied Kashmir

Both leaders expressed their deep concern on the humanitarian crisis in IOK. The President said that unimaginable human rights violations are taking place at the hands of the Indian occupation forces. “Even though the freedom struggle has gathered momentum, our struggle will continue till the people of Kashmir attain their right to self determination”, he said.

The President urged the international community to bring an end to the atrocities and war crimes committed in IOK. “The United Nations and other human rights organizations must send their fact finding teams to IOK to assess and report the war crimes and violations of humanitarian law”, he said adding that any resistance by India must be brought up in all international forums in order to expose their true face.

Both the leaders had expressed their satisfaction over the ongoing development projects in AJK. The President pledged to focus on development projects especially road infrastructure, power production, extraction industry, education and many other sectors.

The President said, “Educational institutions have to priorities merit based selections in order to provide quality education to our younger generation. The youth of Pakistan and AJK are the catalyst of change who will shape the future of our country.”

Both leaders agreed that transparency and open government policy needs to be the focus of the AJK government in order to better deliver services to the masses of AJK

While expressing satisfaction over the diplomatic efforts aimed at highlighting Kashmir case at international level the duo observed that there was a dire need to redouble political and diplomatic efforts at international level to expose Indian atrocities in held Kashmir and its naked aggression on the LoC. “The efforts made at international level yielded some positive results but ultimate success could be achieved only when people of Kashmir would get their birth right the right to self-determination guaranteed to them by the international community”.

Urging India stop war crimes committed against the people of Kashmir they said that international community must send a fact finding mission in the dispute territory to take stock of the worsening political and human rights situation in the restive region. “The United Nations should either send UNSC or UNHRC mission in Indian occupied Kashmir to investigate war crimes committed by Indian occupation forces against Kashmiris”, they said adding that Indiamust be hold accountable for its misdemeanor in case it does not allow the UN fact finding mission to visit Kashmir.

President Masood Khan and the acting PM on the occasion expressed satisfaction over the performance of the incumbent regime led by Raja Farooq Haider Khan.
